Wellness for mind and body

What is PsicoFitness?

Psycho-fitness is a prevention and treatment model with therapeutic and rehabilitative features. It’s also an education and training program. It was developed by Dr. Salvatore Picone, a human sciences teacher and psychologist (SPR n°2209).

The model is based on a comprehensive vision of the person thought of as the interaction between spiritual, psychological and physical well-being. Psycho-fitness values are truth, beauty and goodness. The model supports the individual humanization process: this means backing-up the recovery and development of one’s humanity.

As a method, psycho-fitness enables participants to foster self-awareness skills using self-questioning strategies. This kind of strategies can be used to gain a better understanding of one’s story and to develop internal/external harmony. Psycho-fitness protocol is based on five questions: “where I am in my life? What my relationship is to myself, to the others, to the world?”; “What kind of feelings and experiences am I experiencing?”; “What do I know about my strengths and weaknesses?”; “What I want to change in my life? What I’m becoming able to do and be?”; “What have I been able to change about myself and my life compared to my starting point?”.

Psycho-fitness model has a therapeutic value for those who wish to reinstate their emotional and existential balance, for young people who need to be supported in the growth-orientation process, for couples who aspire to regenerate their union, for parents who want to be safe and effective in their daily tasks.
